Road Map o Holland is my book.
I began writing it when the twins, Avery and Bennett, were about 2. It felt as if I’d come through something, then, an experience that certainly wasn’t what I’d expected. I wanted to remember it, just as it felt at the time: and I wanted to cut a path through the woods. Leave a little trail of breadcrumbs behind me, for anyone else who found themselves a bit lost, too.
(Here’s a story about the cover. Here’s a video. Here’s the website.)
When Road Map to Holland came out, a remarkable thing happened. People began reading it! I know, I probably should have anticipated this fact of publication. But for so long the story had been in my heart, then in my head, then words on a computer screen…I think I almost forgot where it all was going.
