Here’s a beautiful new slideshow from Kurt Wilson of The Missoulian. This is a post-surgery Avery, but you can see how busy, and active, and happy his recovery has been.
And this is the link to the accompanying article by Vince Devlin, also of The Missoulian, who was with us the same day the photos were taken.

Beautiful!
just beautiful!!! thanks for sharing. Happy Mother’s Day!
Perfect timing. I am out the door to my first Mother’s Day Tea at Gabe’s preschool. I’m nervous. For some obvious reasons — Will all the mothers be watching me and my son? — and not so obvious reasons — Will Gabe bellow out all the Mother Day songs he’s been singing to me at home? I’ve been thinking about what it means to me not to only be a mother but a mother of an only child, an only child with Ds. “It’s not a bad place, only different.” A GOOD different. Thanks for posting your video — it’s beautiful. And Jennifer, your most gentle voice calms my jittery nerves…I must go now. Cheers!
OMG!!!. You have a GORGEOUS family!!!
. LOVE Avery, your sweet voice and your home
.

Absolutely beautiful. Thank you!
Oh my goodness, I am all choked up!! Your voice is so soothing. I feel like all I do all day is bark at my toddler!
Those sentiments are so true and so needed, about grieving the child you thought you were going to have. That was what a friend told me shortly after Benjamin was born, and it was very sound advice.
Reading your book in the first few weeks and months of this grieving process was probably the most therapeutic thing I did. It was hot off the presses and God knew I needed it.
Beautiful! I love the photos of you with your boys and the gentleness of your voice, both so inviting!
Wonderful slide show. I can’t decide but I think my favorite picture is of Avery with the baseball bat. Such fierce determination on that sweet little face.
Wishing you a beautiful Mother’s Day with all your men —big and small. xo

Sorry for the typos above–my head is faster than my hands.
It’s good to see that Avery is doing so well!I love the slide show!
I wanted to tell you thank you for writing,”A Road Map to Holland.”Your book helped me so much during those first weeks after having my daughter who has DS.You helped me to not feel so alone.
Wow — this slide show is absolutely stunning, and so powerful with your accompanying narration.
It makes me want to have a professional photographer shoot Ben and I and our family. We need to show the beauty of our families in all their diversity. What a powerful way to open people’s minds! Louise
