This is what six-years-old looks like at our house. And if you’re wondering why there are 12 candles on the cake?
It’s this year’s compromise: I didn’t want to make 2 cakes (too much cake!), and Carter pointed out that taking turns blowing out 6 candles would be unfair, because someone would be first and someone would be last. So 12 candles it was, 6 for each boy.

Happy Birthday! You could always relight them. We used to do that when we were kids so everyone got to blow them out, even though it wasn’t their birthday – 5 times! It’s amazing the candles held.
