In yesterday’s Washington Post,

there was a reprint of an articled by Abigail Braithwaite, mom to a nine-month-old with Down syndrome, titled “For One Woman, An Unexpected Gift.” (The story originally appeared in the Barton, VT, Chronicle).

Braithwaite writes about her experiences with her daughter, which began with hopes of a waterbirth at home; there were adjustments to the plans because of preeclampsia, and more still when her daughter was diagnosed with DS at three days old. It’s a story many of us are familiar with, at least in parts, and it’s terrific to find it shared in national media.

Thanks to Karen at Lion and Magic boy for the link.
