Mama? Mama? Mama?

The blue plastic wading pool has a crack; the neon green floaty-donut has a slow leak; the lake has swimmer’s itch. It’s always right about now that I begin to get sick of summer.

This week’s “A Little More” post at ParentDish is a tale of lemons-to-lemonade, only in this version of the story, my children do the work: all I have to do is accept it.

  1. I’m still waiting for summer to arrive. We had some great weather back in April and the 1st week of may. Since then it’s been grey, cool and miserable 6 days out of 7.

If summer doesn’t arrive soon, we’re going to miss it completely. I saw my first ripe blackberry yesterday which shouldn’t be happening for another 6 weeks

  2. Thank you fot all the encouragement, everyone! This post was a little different than my “ususal” ones, and I wasn’t sure how it would go over…you’ve made me feel very happy I took the risk!

  3. You have no idea how much I needed to read this. In the midst of my own long hot summer with two little boys, one of whom is trying my patience in the way only a two-year-old can, I needed to be reminded just how fleetingly they will be these little boys. Thanks.

  4. Let me be the first to say…thank you. Thank you for the little nudge, the little reminder, to cherish the small things, the moments that will be lost to the craziness of getting on with life. The sugar spills and the boys spin, the day is hot and mama needs a break, but this is the moment only just this once. Thank you.
